Manufacturing Process of Cocopeat:
1. Collection: Coconut husks are gathered and stored for processing.
2. Dehusking: The coir is separated from mature coconuts and then cured for about 6 weeks.
3. Washing: The coir pith is spread on floor for months and washed to reduce its pH and EC to desired levels.
4. Testing: After washing, the coir pith is tested for optimal pH and EC values, and impurities are removed through sieving.
5. Drying: The coir pith is dried under sunlight until the moisture content is reduced to about 18%.
6. Screening: A final screening removes any remaining impurities using automated screeners.
This compression process ensures ease of storage, transportation, and handling for end-users. The compressed cocopeat blocks are then meticulously packaged to preserve freshness and quality.
